Adopt a City Lesson 4 – Creating Postcards

Objectives: Students will learn more about their adopted city and country by researching important economic, historical, cultural, and geographical facts and create a visual representation to display what they have learned.

REQUIRED FACTS: Must fit on one Google Slide and include:

Additional Facts: Remember you can use words and picturesChoose any 3+ additional topics to add to your postcard:

  1. Biome – Rainforest, Taiga, Tundra, etc…
  2. Animals in the surrounding natural habitat
  3. Avg rainfall/snowfall for the year 
  4. Avg temperature range for the year
  5. Natural disasters? Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, etc
  6. Crops/Animals for agriculture
  7. Industry/Exports/Mining
  8. Type of Government & Country Flag
  9. Historical events or fun & interesting facts about your city

How to set up your Google Slide

  1. You will be assigned a slide number .
  2. You will edit and design your assigned slide to showcase your information via text and images. 
  3. You can use any fonts, colors, sizes, text boxes, & backgrounds of your choice as long as it is easy to see and read.
  4. Be creative! This a visual interpretation of your research and will be displayed.
